HHTC Update
There was no slowing down the HHTC players! Fantastic weather, beautiful courts and lots of highly skilled action. Well, two out of three ain’t bad but you all looked great! Despite the headwinds and the lack of any formal Round Robins, a President’s Social this summer nor a kids tennis camp, more tennis was played this year as any on record*.
We are so happy that we had any season at all. In April and May, it required a lot of work on the part of the tennis committee to fulfil all the requirements necessary to be able to get the courts open. Then, as the stages changed, they were able to adjust along the way to help keep everyone as safe as everyone wanted to be.
The cooperation and diligence shown by all our members was remarkable. We should all be grateful to be a part of such a considerate, thoughtful and energetic community. Thank you everyone!
The new online court booking system worked out extremely well and the committee is looking at a minor tweak or two for next year.
We lost a great friend and HHTC tennis player this year, Ken Croney. Our hearts go out to Ken’s family. Ken generously donated an AED for the property last year and but for the grace of God it was used to save a life. As requested by Ken and his family, we will be accepting donations that will go to more AED’s and their maintenance in the Honey Harbour area.
Please make sure you familiarize yourself with the location of AED when you come back next year, on the wall between the bathrooms.
It was an honor to be your President this year and thank you for an amazing season. See you in May!
* 2020 is the first year of official record keeping.
Best regards,
HHTC Executive Committee
